About this tool

Create a new PDF with visible text or local-image watermarks. Keep all original pages in their original order and stamp only the selected physical pages. Configure a single position or a repeated 3×3 grid; your original file remains unchanged.

Common uses

  • Mark draft reports with translucent DRAFT text.
  • Place a local logo or a pre-rendered Chinese/Japanese watermark image on selected pages.

How to use it

  1. 1.Choose one PDF, then enter printable ASCII text or choose a supported local PNG/JPEG image.
  2. 2.Set the page range, opacity, scale, tilt and single position or repeated 3×3 placement; inspect the stamp plan.
  3. 3.Create the watermarked PDF, inspect the actual output thumbnails and download the complete document.

Watermark examples

Selected-page draft mark

5 pages; text DRAFT; range 2,4-5; opacity 0.2; scale 40%; tilt −45°; center; single
Pages 2, 4 and 5: one DRAFT stamp each
Pages 1 and 3: no added watermark

All five pages remain in their original order; only selected pages are stamped.

Repeated logo

4 pages; local red 64×32 PNG; range 2-4; opacity 0.5; scale 40%; tilt 0°; repeated
Pages 2, 3 and 4: nine image stamps each
27 image stamps in total

Each grid cell receives one proportional image; the first page remains unstamped.

Limits and notes

  • One PDF up to 10 MiB and 100 pages; output up to 40 MiB. Reading, worker processing, image decoding and preview each have a 30-second cancellable deadline. Compressed PDFs can still consume substantial memory.
  • Text: 1–64 printable ASCII characters with at least one non-space character, using a standard Helvetica reference, without embedded font binaries. Chinese/Japanese text and emoji are rejected; use a local image for those glyphs. Viewer font substitution can differ.
  • Image: PNG or JPEG up to 2 MiB, 2 million pixels and 4096px per edge. PNG supports non-interlaced 8-bit RGB/RGBA only, verifies CRC and bounded decompression and omits ancillary metadata; APNG, palette/gray PNG and tRNS are rejected. JPEG supports 8-bit baseline/progressive gray/RGB and is actually decoded in the browser before export. EXIF orientation and color profiles are not applied by the PDF embedder; inspect the output. Use images you have rights to reproduce.
  • Opacity: 0.05–1; scale: 5–100% of the available single-page or grid-cell rectangle; tilt: −45°, 0° or 45°. Aspect ratio is preserved, each stamp fits with a 6 pt inset, and repeated mode ignores the single position. Empty range means all pages; otherwise use 2-4,6. Duplicates, overlaps, reversed or out-of-range values are errors. CropBox/MediaBox intersection and quarter-turn rotations are respected; invalid geometry, non-default UserUnit, encryption, AcroForms and signature permissions are rejected. Repetition uses a 3×3 grid.
  • A new document does not preserve document-level bookmarks, tags, forms, metadata or digital signatures. Original page content and annotations may remain: watermarks are not redaction, sanitization or copy protection, and can cover content. Thumbnails have a 160px maximum edge, omit annotations and may omit source images above 2 million pixels. Inspect the downloaded PDF at full size. Failed preview prevents download; input is not uploaded or persisted.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add Chinese or Japanese text?

The text mode supports printable ASCII only. Render your own Chinese or Japanese text to a supported PNG/JPEG image and use image mode; unsupported text is rejected instead of producing missing glyphs.

What does repeated placement do?

It places nine identical stamps in a 3×3 grid on each selected page. Scale applies to each cell, and the single-position selector is disabled.
