About this tool
Convert each carton’s three outside dimensions to meters, multiply length × width × height, then multiply by quantity and sum exact volumes. Rectangular outside dimensions only; no packing utilization, container fit, pallet space, stacking allowance, dimensional weight or freight prices. Different carton dimensions need separate rows.
Common uses
- Two 40 × 30 × 20 cm cartons contribute 0.048 m³. Three 1 × 1 × 1 ft cartons contribute 0.084950539776 m³ and exactly 3 ft³. Total 5 cartons: 0.132950539776 m³, displayed 0.132950540 m³.
- 12 × 12 × 12 in is exactly 1 ft³ and 0.028316846592 m³. Dimensions in mm, cm, m, in and ft can be mixed across rows; exact values remain available even below display precision.
How to use it
- 1.Enter each carton type’s label, outside dimensions, unit and integer quantity.
- 2.Calculate and inspect shipment totals, per-carton and per-row volumes, normalized dimensions and exact formulas.
- 3.Optionally save protected CSV and verify spreadsheet import settings.
Limits and notes
- 1–50 rows; quantity 1–1000000 per row. Positive ASCII decimals: 12 integer + 6 fractional digits. Labels 1–40 characters without control or invisible format characters or malformed Unicode. CSV ≤ 64 KiB.
- Exact fractions determine all totals. Display: 9 decimals, nearest with ties up. If a positive value would round to zero at 9 decimals, display <0.000000001 instead. 1 in = 0.0254 m; 1 ft = 0.3048 m, international foot.
- Rectangular outside dimensions only; no packing utilization, container fit, pallet space, stacking allowance, dimensional weight or freight prices. Different carton dimensions need separate rows.
- Local calculation; no network or saved inputs. Editing or changing language clears results. CSV contains entered labels, dimensions, units, quantities and exact formulas. CSV uses fixed English headers, UTF-8 with BOM and CRLF, quoted cells, and apostrophe protection for spreadsheet-leading formula characters. Exact fractions and display values are separate columns; the total row has kind=total. Verify import settings in your spreadsheet.
Frequently asked questions
What is CBM?
Convert each carton’s three outside dimensions to meters, multiply length × width × height, then multiply by quantity and sum exact volumes.
Does this predict container loading?
Rectangular outside dimensions only; no packing utilization, container fit, pallet space, stacking allowance, dimensional weight or freight prices. Different carton dimensions need separate rows.
How is CSV protected?
CSV uses fixed English headers, UTF-8 with BOM and CRLF, quoted cells, and apostrophe protection for spreadsheet-leading formula characters. Exact fractions and display values are separate columns; the total row has kind=total. Verify import settings in your spreadsheet.
What happens with tiny or invalid dimensions?
Exact fractions determine all totals. Display: 9 decimals, nearest with ties up. If a positive value would round to zero at 9 decimals, display <0.000000001 instead. 1 in = 0.0254 m; 1 ft = 0.3048 m, international foot. Enter a positive ASCII decimal with at most 12 integer and 6 fractional digits. Enter an integer carton count from 1 to 1000000.
