About this tool
Normalize each box, round dimensions, calculate L × W × H / divisor, compare with actual weight, round the maximum, then multiply by quantity and sum. Confirm your carrier, service and contract rules. Example divisor 5000 and steps are arbitrary, not a carrier quote. Divisor units must match the selected rule units.
Common uses
- Example only: cm³/kg divisor 5000, no dimension rounding, billable increment 1 kg. Two 40 × 30 × 20 cm boxes at 3 kg each yield 4.8 kg dimensional and 5 kg billable each; one identical box at 10 kg bills 10 kg. Totals: 3 boxes, actual 16 kg, dimensional 14.4 kg, billable 20 kg.
- At divisor 1 cm³/kg, a 1 × 1 × 1 in box normalizes to 2.54 cm per side and 16.387064 kg dimensional. A 1 lb actual weight is exactly 0.45359237 kg. No-rounding rules preserve exact fractions.
How to use it
- 1.Enter rule units, a positive divisor and dimension/weight rounding increments from your own contract.
- 2.Enter each row’s label, positive dimensions, nonnegative actual weight, units and identical-box quantity.
- 3.Calculate, inspect exact normalized/rounded dimensions and formulas, then optionally export local JSON.
Limits and notes
- 1–8 rows; quantity 1–1000000 each. ASCII decimals: 12 integer + 6 fractional digits. Positive dimensions/divisor/steps; actual weight ≥ 0. JSON ≤ 64 KiB.
- Exact fractions determine comparison, rounding and totals. Display: 6 decimals, nearest with ties up. 1 in = 2.54 cm; 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg (avoirdupois). Rounded positive dimensions that become zero are rejected.
- Each physical box uses max(actual, dimensional) BEFORE billable rounding and quantity multiplication. Different dimensions/weights need separate rows. No shipment-level minimum, surcharge, oversize, rate or currency calculation.
- Local calculation; no network, saved inputs or carrier connection. Export contains entered values and rules. Editing or changing language clears results.
Frequently asked questions
Which rules are applied?
Confirm your carrier, service and contract rules. Example divisor 5000 and steps are arbitrary, not a carrier quote. Divisor units must match the selected rule units.
How are multiple boxes billed?
Each physical box uses max(actual, dimensional) BEFORE billable rounding and quantity multiplication. Different dimensions/weights need separate rows. No shipment-level minimum, surcharge, oversize, rate or currency calculation.
What happens with invalid dimensions?
Dimension rounding produced zero. Use a finer increment or another rounding rule. Use an ASCII decimal with 1–12 integer digits and at most 6 fractional digits; no spaces, sign or exponent.
What does local export contain?
Local calculation; no network, saved inputs or carrier connection. Export contains entered values and rules. Editing or changing language clears results. 1–8 rows; quantity 1–1000000 each. ASCII decimals: 12 integer + 6 fractional digits. Positive dimensions/divisor/steps; actual weight ≥ 0. JSON ≤ 64 KiB.
