About this tool

Sample a local MP4 or WebM video at regular intervals and export a labeled PNG or single-page raster PDF. No upload; the example loads an authored video from this site.

Common uses

  • Inspect the scene progression of a short clip.
  • Share a printable overview with requested sampling times.

How to use it

  1. 1.Choose a local MP4 or WebM video.
  2. 2.Set the start, exclusive end, interval, columns and cell size; generate the sheet.
  3. 3.Review all thumbnails and requested times, then save PNG or PDF.

Limits and notes

  • One MP4/WebM ≤200 MiB, duration ≤1200s, input ≤4096px per edge/8 million pixels. 1–30 frames; interval ≥0.1s with up to three decimal places. Cells 64–640px, 1–6 columns; output ≤4096px per edge/8 million pixels/32 MiB per file. Each wait ≤10s, processing ≤90s. Native codec memory is not fully capped.
  • Timecodes label requested times. The table reports the video currentTime after seeking, not the actual encoded frame timestamp. Browser seeking and variable frame rates can select nearby or duplicate frames. No audio playback; unsupported/encrypted media fails. PDF contains the rendered sheet as an image, without searchable text.
  • Changing options, file or language, clearing, cancelling or leaving discards results and releases the source decoder. File names remain in the page and are not printed on the sheet.
